FINE ART CANVAS GICLÉE PRINT OF HORSE PAINTING BLANQUITA, BY JOHN FARNSWORTH

"In MO, 2011, while exhibiting my work on a private ranch in Oklahoma, I met a group of young Mexican horsemen. When I mentioned my interest in painting Charreada, or Mexican Rodeo, they informed me that the National Championship was coming up in MO, in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. As soon as I returned home to Taos, I began planning my trip to Juarez. I got some great shots of the action as well as portraits of the participants, spectators and Charro Kids. But I found myself during the three days inside the holding pens with the bareback and saddle broncs. Thus was born The Juarez Triptych, which I painted in my then studio just off Canyon Road in Santa Fe. An artist friend and former rodeo rider, when he saw the paintings, said “Those gentle sweeties aren’t bucking’ stock. Bucking’ horses are mean, wild-eyed beasts”. “Not”, I said, “when you remove the flanking strap, rider and spurs and return them to the safety of the herd and give them some hay. Of course, when I painted them, I chose to leave out the dust and any dings and scratches to better show the spirit of these otherwise gentle creatures."

-John

BLANQUITA is frequently hung with PINTA and INDIA BLANCA as the Juarez Triptych. However, this fine art reproduction makes a fine statement on its own.

You can now live with this gorgeous image, that was originally painted in oil on canvas, at 36x36 inches.

This gallery-wrapped canvas print features a mirrored image around the inch and a half deep edges, offering a polished finish. While we could have opted for a print solely on the front with white edges, we believe the mirrored edges add an extra touch of elegance.
